Research
I am using Nuclear Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering data to measure material porperties of minerals at extreme conditions. By extracting the sound velocity of a compressed material, one can determine the Gruneisen parameter, and from there approximate the melting temperature of certain deep earth materials. This will lead to a better understanding of the mineralogy of the lower mantle and core, and provide better constraints for models of these regions.
