Research

I am interested in characterizing the seismic signal generated by various complex geophysical processes such as gravitational events (rock falls, rock avalanches, debris flows,..), the bed load of rivers and fluid flow within the ground. By analyzing field data, conducting laboratory experiments and establishing first order analytical models, my objective is to establish simple relations between the physical characteristics of the natural event and the properties of the emitted seismic signal. These relations can be useful to deduce quantitative information on the processes without direct visual observation.
