Research
My research is focused on determining the tectonic history of the Cretaceous regions of the Pacific Plate. Joann Stock, my advisor, and I have created a model of the history of the Cretaceous Osbourn spreading center. As there are few magnetic reversal anomalies observable in the Osbourn Region, Rob Clayton and I have developed a method by which the shape of abyssal hills can be used to determine spreading rates and directions useful for reconstructing the history of this region. Currently, I am working to extend this technique to analysis of other geological textures, such as sand dunes, strain markers in rocks and fracture zones. I also work with Mike Gurnis on basin analysis.
