Research

My main area of research focuses on understanding the nature of the interiors of the Earth and other planets through direct measurements of physical properties of Earth and planetary materials under high pressures and high temperatures. I am also interested in the origin and evolution of terrestrial-like moons and large icy satellites in the solar system. I will be working with Prof. Jennifer Jackson on 1) equation-of-state and sound velocities of iron-rich alloys and mantle materials, and 2) melting behavior of iron-(nickel)-light-element systems to extreme conditions.
