Research
I am a Peruvian geophysicist, specializing in seismology and earthquake physics. My research is primarily devoted to the study of the physics of earthquake sources, mainly through theoretical modeling constrained by observations. I am also broadly interested in the assessment, prevention and mitigation of earthquake hazard and risk, in particular in large urban areas close to subduction zones, like in my native city of Lima, Peru.
